Staff Learning
Understand Energy Learning Series for Stanford Staff
Did you know that energy is the source of ~75% of global greenhouse gases? Join us for weekly virtual half-hour lunchtime sessions just for staff to learn about energy topics like renewables, fossil fuels, nuclear, health, equity, the environment, and policy. We're offering this opportunity for staff to be able to invest in their own education on energy, sustainability, and climate change, and empower everyone to make better decisions personally and professionally. Open to all Stanford staff.
On November 7th, 2025, we concluded our 2025 Understand Energy Staff Learning Series. See all recorded sessions below.
We will restart in January 2026 on Fridays, 12:30PM-1PM PT on Zoom. Stay tuned for sign-up.
What to Expect
The Staff Learning Series features fun and informative 10-15 minute mini-lectures presented by Understand Energy Lecturer Dr. Diana Gragg, followed by optional 15-20 minute Q&A to dive deeper.
The series consists of ~35 sessions, each 30 minutes long, following the Understand Energy course outline. Recorded presentations will be available here under "Past Session" and on the Understand Energy Learning Hub as lasting education resources for staff, students, educators, and the public.
